On Wednesday, July 15th, we drove to Sumner, IA, to sing and minister at the Faith Evangelical Church. From the moment we drove into the community, we felt excitement in the air. As we drove down Main Street, I said, "Larry, look!" Up on the movie theatre marquee, it read, "Land of the Lost, PG-13" and then directly underneath, "Lundstrom Event at Faith". I thought how fitting that was as we came to reach the lost in that community. How timely!
We have had an exciting two weeks on the road! We just arrived in Waterloo, IA, where we will have two AM services this coming Sunday. If you have any friends that live in this area, give them a call and invite them to our services. God is doing great things! John 12:32 says, "And I, if I be lifted up, I will draw men unto me." How true!!! Larry and I rejoice at what God continues to do if we are obedient to go and lift Him up! He will do the rest!
Larry and I rejoice at the wonderful services we have had these past couple of weeks. On June 21st we ministered in Grand Forks, ND, at Valley Christian Center with Pastor Chris Dawes. On Sunday morning while preparing for the service, Pastor Chris said "I remember you from waaaay back." I chuckled, "Hey…be easy on us old people." It is always entertaining to hear comments from pastors and partners who often say, "I remember you when I was just a kid"…and now they are in their 30's and 40's.
Let me catch my breath…we've just returned home from a 1200 mile, whirlwind round trip from Sisseton, SD to Milwaukee, WI. We were so privileged to be able to attend the 30th anniversary celebration of my brother, Pastor Jerry Brooks, and his wife Sherry's pastoring at Oak Creek Assembly of God in Oak Creek, WI.
We arrived home May 28th. The next day, LaDawn and our two grandchildren scurried home for the long Memorial Day weekend. Even though we came home road weary and seemingly braindead, it was so refreshing and fun to have them come as a welcome committee.
Mother's day we ministered in Owatonna, MN at Elevation North, which is pastored by our friends, Doug and Deb Jones. We had a precious time. Doug and Deb are excited about their new venture with Elevation North, and they definitely put 100% of their energy into whatever they do.
We've been crisscrossing from Pennsylvania to Michigan to Indiana and back to Michigan these last few weeks. Last Sunday we were in Jonesville, MI, at the Hillsdale Assembly of God pastored by Dennis and Joyce Haarer. We have had the pleasure of ministering in their church before, and they, too, are a sweet and tender couple.
I last wrote to you from Grantsville, Maryland, where we had a service with Pastor John and Leona Munley. Talk about an energy-packed ministry couple with an earth-shaking testimony! We had a wonderful service and a sweet altar call. I refer to it as "sweet" because when God moves people to repentance, there is a sweet aroma of God's presence that is so special.
Greetings from the beautiful state of Maryland! I love Easter for two main reasons : 1. Christ rose triumphantly over death and the grave! 2. It was in the Easter season that both Larry and I gave our hearts to Christ. I'm celebrating 57 years since I walked up to the altar in Sisseton, SD , prayed and asked Jesus to forgive me of any sins in my life and invited Him to come in and live in me. Wow! That's exactly what He did, and has done since I was 8 years old. After I prayed, I remembered thinking, "I want to work for Jesus." You see I was inspired by Rev. Don Waggoner and his family who pastored the small Gospel Tabernacle.
All aboard! We are all packed up in the motor home en route to Washington D.C. area. We were anxious to hit the road again. We will have services next Sunday in Woodbridge, VA which is only a hop-skip- and a jump…25 miles from the nation's capital. We've had a wonderful 2 months in Florida. God opened up so many doors of personal ministry to so many who needed encouragement. With the crisis America is going through, everyone needs encouragement…including us.
