We held our third service of this tour in Laurel, MT on Oct. 16 which was our 46th wedding anniversary. What a thrilling way to celebrate...with the altar lined with many making commitments for Christ. Larry and I never tire of that precious sight. It was good to be back for the second time with Pastor John and Catherine Farnes at Family Christian Center. They have such a love for the lost and hurting.
Greetings from Belgrade, Montana! What a breathtaking view from the motorhome as we sit nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains frosted with snow.
But...this beauty does not compare to the scene at the altar last Sunday morning and evening at Dry Creek Bible Church outside of Bozeman, Montana.
On October 2nd, friends of the family helped Larry load the equipment and personal belongings into the motorhome and off we went. Cruising down Interstate 94, Larry turned to me and grinned, "Honey, this feels so good to be back on the road." Of course he received loving rebuke from me, his trenchmate. "You know the doctor's orders and the new rules and regulations for taking care of yourself...so we can stay out on the road...right?" He smiled and assured me, "yes".
HELP...I can feel it...autumn is biting at my heels. The temps are dropping fast here in South Dakota. The wind displayed its 40-50 mph strength all night long. Thankfully, however, it was just wind and NO SNOW! Let me see, it seems this year we had a full blown winter, a hiccup of spring, and a short heat blast of summer. It makes one wonder what fall is going to be like. I am sure I will soon find out. This is the first time in almost 46 years of ministry, we have been around "home" this long due to Larry's recovery.
Greetings from Sisseton. We just wanted to post a quick note and update. We are home again. We have consistently traveled for the past two months-not in evangelism, I wish it were, but it has been non-stop doctor appointments, therapy, etc. I am happy to be home for a week or so again.
What a beautiful fall-like day in Rochester, Minnesota! We're here for a series of checkups for Larry.
On Monday we drove to Abbott Northwest in Minneapolis for Larry's follow-up checkup with the surgeon. I was so happy that his incision had just closed up 3 days before his appointment. That is a great milestone so we don't have to tip-toe around worrying about infection. His energy level is low and his fatigue level is high. That makes two of us...and I didn't even have surgery - ha! Larry's in good spirits as usual, he just gets frustrated with low energy. The surgeon is pleased at Larry's recovery...but they keep reminding him of one word, "patience". It's still a full time job making sure and reminding him he can only lift 10 pounds this month.

Greetings from home. First of all, Larry and I want to thank you for all your prayers and get well cards. You truly have encouraged us, knowing you care! It was great getting back to our own home in Sisseton, SD after nearly a month in the Minneapolis area. Our daughter LaDawn was so gracious and insisted we stay with her so we would be near Larry's doctors just in case we ran into another speedbump.
Last night I lay in bed, totally exhausted but thanking and praising God for another day of answered prayers and victories. Even though this has been a little setback again, a little speed bump, we trust God for steady improvement and healing. We count on your prayers, and we believe His Word when He says, "I am the Lord that healeth thee." (Exodus 15:26)
Needless to say, it was rough on our schedule, but we continued to trust in God. We prayed and ask God, "Now what?" We felt God lay on our hearts to "GO and FIND hurting and discouraged people (this is not hard to do) and minister hope and encouragement to them." It happened! It has truly been an exciting time of just being at the right place at the right time with God's chosen people.
One of these days you'll explode and shout to all the kids, "Why don't you just grow up and act your age!" And they will...
