Greetings from Salt Lake City, Utah! Arizona is now a vapor! We drove out of Peoria, AZ, last Sunday afternoon after our Sunday service. I asked Larry to stop and take a photo of our last Arizona sunset among the cacti. When I saw his photo, I said, "Wow! That could make a postcard!"

Last week, we were busy getting ready for the 1300 mile trek to Stevensville, MT. On Saturday, we drove to Peoria, a suburb of Phoenix. It was actually one of the hottest days we have had since we have been in Arizona. It was close to 90 degrees. It is supposed to be 96 degrees there this week so I think we hit the trail at just the right time.
On Sunday, we had the privilege of ministering at Harvestime Church in Peoria, AZ, with Pastor Ron and Sue Rockwell. Pastor Ron and Sue were the youth ministers in our home church in Sisseton, SD, about 20 years ago. They left a great impact on the lives of the youth they ministered to. Pastor Ron and Sue started a new church in Peoria about five years ago. It is growing quickly and is filled with loving people of all ages. Oftentimes, a church assumes the personality of the pastor. It is really true in this case. Larry and I know why people are flocking in; it is because there is so much love there which is a direct reflection of Pastor Ron and Sue.
When Larry gave the invitation, the altars were filled with many making
recommitments of their lives to Christ. It was thrilling to see a large group of teenagers come forward to pound another nail into their commitment to Christ.
Once again, we were excited to see several guests attend who had earlier come to Christ under the Lundstrom Ministry. It always brings us joy to see them faithfully serving God all these many years!
On Monday, we drove through Nevada, and on Tuesday, we touched three states: Nevada, the corner of Arizona and crossed into Utah. The scenery was breathtaking! We saw desert, rugged mountains, canyons, fields laden with cattle, and snow-capped peaks. God certainly created everything beautiful for us to enjoy.
Today we are in Salt Lake City, UT. On Good Friday, we will drive into Stevensville, MT, which is just outside the beautiful Missoula, MT, area. I can hardly believe it is almost Easter. Every time I think of Good Friday, my mind goes back to when our son, Donovan, who was about five years old. He colored me a picture of Jesus on the cross and proudly handed it to me. I
complimented him and commented on how beautiful the picture was. I taped it on the window of our bus so the sun could shine through the picture. I then looked at my son, and I could see he was in deep thought. Finally, he spoke up, "Mom, why do they call it a good Friday when they nailed Jesus on the cross? I don't think that's so good!" Wow! I was slightly taken aback. I took the time to explain that Jesus loved us so much that He wanted us to go to heaven with Him. I continued to state that the only way we could go was if Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Donovan's eyes brightened, he grinned and said, "Oh now I know why it was a good Friday."
I love the openness and curiosity of a child. They teach us so much!
The last few days, Larry and I have been reading a booklet titled, "Passion with a Purpose...40 Days With God." It is a 40 day devotional that takes us up to Easter. It is so good! Please allow me to share one short devotion with you to meditate on:
One Incredible Plan
Scripture: Phillipians 2:8 "He humbled Himself and was fully obedient to God even when that caused His death-death on a cross."
When human hands fastened the divine hands to a cross with spikes, it wasn't the soldiers who held the hands of Jesus steady. It was God who held them steady. Those same hands that formed the oceans and built the mountains. Those same hands that designed the dawn and crafted each cloud. Those same hands that blueprinted one incredible plan for you and me.
Take a stroll out to the hill. Out to calvary. Out to the cross where, with holy blood, the hand that placed you on the planet wrote the promise, "God would give up His only son before He would give up on you."
-Max Lucado
When I read that, I was tear-laden as I thought of how grateful I am that God didn't give up on me and my family in April of 1952. He saw us as not unworthy but worthy of His sacrifice and gave it all to us freely. Now, for over 40 years, Larry and I have had the privilege of sharing that free gift with multiplied thousands. Yes...because He lives, we have the hope of eternal life.
We pray that you have a blessed Easter as you celebrate the resurrected Lord!
Gloria
P.S. If you would like to receive a speaking tape that shares on serving God no matter what happens, please e-mail us at llmin@venturecomm.net, and
we would be happy to send it to you as a free Easter gift.POEM OF THE WEEK
ONE GUY DIDN'T
Three guys were tried for crimes against humanity.
Two guys committed crimes.
One guy didn't.
Three guys were given government trials.
Two guys had fair trials.
One guy didn't.
Three guys were whipped and beaten.
Two guys had it coming.
One guy didn't.
Three guys were given crosses to carry.
Two guys earned their crosses.
One guy didn't.
Three guys were mocked and spit at along the way.
Two guys cursed and spit back.
One guy didn't.
Three guys were nailed to crosses.
Two guys deserved it.
One guy didn't.
Three guys agonized over their abandonment.
Two guys had reason to be abandoned.
One guy didn't.
Three guys talked while hanging on their crosses.
Two guys argued.
One guy didn't.
Three guys knew death was coming.
Two guys resisted.
One guy didn't.
One.
Two.
Three guys died on three crosses.
Three days later.
Two guys remained in their graves.
One guy didn't.

the years sometime, somewhere. It was a special treat to see Rev. and Mrs. Don Waggoner and their daughter, Helen, and husband, Roger Sorbo. Rev. And Mrs. Waggoner pastored our hometown church in Sisseton, SD, way, way, way back. They were pastoring the first time our family attended a full gospel church. It was my first opportunity to see a pastor's wife and family. Helen, her sister, Carol, and little brother, Ron, were sitting in the front row chairs and I was all eyes and ears. There was this handsome pastor and his beautiful wife who got up and played piano, trombone and sang. They were electric! The children were beautiful and so well behaved. I was mesmerized by all of it and they made a great impact on my life. That was about 1949 or 1950...oops...now I'm really making myself ancient. I think I was about 6 years old at the time. What a thrill to see them and to see Brother Don still playing his trombone in the Sr. Church Orchestra. It's been great to be able to keep in touch with them all these years.
dynamic couple who are doing a great job pastoring the church. The people love them. Boy, are they talented and can sing! We had a delightful time ministering there last Sunday morning. Larry preached a sermon entitled, "If you don't know you....you don't go!" He presented the simple salvation message and then asked if they'd like to make sure that their sins are forgiven so they can know for sure that they are going to heaven. Larry gave the invitation and you can see by the photo, the altar was filled with those making sure they were saved. That's what life is all about!
preacher in a suit into work clothes to be a mechanic. There's always a long list of things to fix on the coach. One thing about this lifestyle is that Larry and I have to be all and do all because Larry and I are all we have, ha! I've been trying to find time in the past week just to get 6 blocks away to the laundromat. I'm sure if I don't make it real soon those clothes will walk over there themselves, ha! On second thought...I wish they would...sure would help me out.

'68. I was just a little kid." Boy did that make us feel old! He continued, "They brought their old blue and white bus over to our house so my dad could help them fix it. I remember there were bus parts all over the floor of the garage, and my dad wouldn't let me play in there. He warned me not to touch any of the parts." I think his dad was afraid he would run off with a bus part, and we'd never get out of town. That would scare me too! Ha!
remembered the auditorium being packed to capacity with hundreds making decisions for Christ. They looked at us, shook their heads, and said, "Wow, you've been on the road all these years, and you are still traveling, singing, and preaching...That's great." Eldon Oller piped up, "Larry, in 1968 you left a tool in my garage after working on the bus. When I saw you years later I brought it to give it back to you; you said keep it as a souvenir. I was so happy as it is a special keepsake. The tool reminds me of the great fellowship we had while working on your bus. We love having a part in helping to keep you 'on the road'."
Last Sunday, we ministered in beautiful Fountain Hills, Arizona. Fountain Hills is another suburb of Phoenix. It was wonderful being back with our friends, Pastor David and Sharon Iverson, that we have known for years. It was like deja vu when he got up to introduce us. He said, "I remember when I was a young kid, you and Gloria came through the Midwest, and I still remember Larry's crazy jokes and antics." Wow that's scary!

After the sermon, Larry gave the altar call, and it was so thrilling to witness the altar packed with prodigals coming home and many others making decisions for Christ. Nathan, the Youth Pastor at First Assembly, was so excited! He said, "You not only ministered to our adults, but you equally touched the hearts of our teens. The Lord used you to motivate and encourage several of our young people to recommit to Christ."
They reminded us that they attended one of our services in
with you. First, don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the other seasons. And secondly, don't judge life by one difficult season. Larry and I have faced many tough seasons in our own lives-but God has always seen us through. I share an encouraging message on tape entitled, "Keep Holding On! You Can Make It." I would love to send this tape to you as a free gift of encouragement. On that recording, I share some of our struggles, as well as how God saw us through them. I truly feel that some of you reading this today need to hear this tape. Please contact us today with your name and mailing address-either by writing to
We had a wonderful weekend of ministry at Celebration Christian Center in Mesa, Arizona. Pastor Randy Visconti shepherds this fast-growing church. There were dozens of friends from all over the United States and Canada in attendance-we had met them during our various travels through the years. It was a joy to have my four older brothers, their wives, and our mom attend that morning service at Celebration. What a special treat!
God's timing."

plane landed in Phoenix (one week ago today).
On Sunday morning, we had two services at the Sierra Vista Assembly of God church, with new pastor Ken Frank. We have been coming to this church for about 10 years now, and it was thrilling to see people in attendance that have come to Christ under our ministry. It is especially wonderful to see how they have matured in the Lord!
LaRae LePoidevin, was single and involved in the church. She had been praying for God to provide her with her life's mate. That Sunday morning, Jim Swartz came to the service, and when Larry gave the invitation, Jim rededicated his life to Christ. A couple of weeks later, Jim and LaRae began to date; then they became engaged a few months later. They got married last summer! They are both so happy, and are both involved in the church. It is exciting to see how God works in the lives of those who love Him!
"Sisseton, South Dakota!" I saw a person in the back with their hands raised, and I asked, "THE Sisseton, South Dakota?" They laughed, "Yes!" I found out that it was Alice Moldrem Wheeler. She spoke up, "I was your Sunday School teacher when you were little!" My heart leapt. I readily recognized her-she looked as beautiful and gracious as ever, only a little older. I acknowledged her, and thanked her for her part in building my spiritual life as a child. I was so glad that I could honor her that way. Just then, her daughter Audrey piped up, "Gloria, I was with my parents at your wedding. I can still remember it-it was so beautiful." Larry and I chuckled, "Wow, that was forty years ago! You have a good memory!" I remember Alice being so sweet and so full of Jesus. And she still is! Alice made a tremendous impact on my life growing up, and evidently made a great spiritual impact on her daughter Audrey's life, as she is the coordinator for the "Women of Virtue" conferences that are held all over the United States. Those conferences touch many thousands of women each year!
Matthew 15:16 says, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven." In other words, let your daily Christian walk, talk, and actions be so evident to those around you that they will see Jesus just spill out all over. Then they will desire to have what you have spiritually, and ultimately find Christ, or continue to grow in Him.
were not sure if I'd be able to keep that foot. I know it was a miracle, an absolute gift from God, that my foot was able to be fully reattached. Not one day goes by that I am not thankful to see that foot on the end of my right leg! The scars are my souvenir of God's goodness to me. Now my leg is my "weather forecaster." Whenever the temperature changes, the plate and screws in my foot go crazy! I still experience a lot of pain, due to the type of injury I sustained. But that's okay!

This is the last time I can say "Aloha" to you! I can
hardly believe we've been in
during two morning services. Again, the Holy Spirit was faithful to draw dozens to Christ. When Larry asked how many people had responded for the first time, many hands were raised. It's always thrilling to see new "babies" born into God's Kingdom, and it's equally thrilling to witness prodigals returning to Christ. The images of the altar calls will forever be with us.

and locals like to eat. They serve fresh seafood omelets and delicious pancakes with their "to-die-for" coconut pancake syrup. Anyway, we were sitting in our booth, and the waitress came to our table and asked to take our order. She took a second look at us and giggled, "I remember you! You haven't been here for a long, long time." We responded, "Yes, it's been two years." She hesitated, looked up as if to the ceiling, and then said, "You're Larry and Gloria. Larry, you came in here two years ago and told us all those jokes." We all laughed-what are the chances of
remembering someone after thousands of other customers have passed through the doors since? It must be Larry's memorable jokes-ha!
Larry gave the altar call, again the response to the invitation was wonderful. There were 10 first-time
decisions for Christ. Many prodigals also came back home! Precious family reunions took place at the altar. That's what life is all about, isn't it? It keeps us going, after all these years, to see lives changed like that. It is also refreshing to visit with so many friends that we've gotten to know through the years here in
Olympic team. Then the adrenaline hits when they compete in the final races. The exuberant look on their faces is priceless when the final scores come up, and they are told they are the winner of a gold medal! Even though they are exhausted physically and mentally at that point, they realize it was worth all the effort when the Olympic medal is placed around their neck. They know it made the grueling months and years of exercise, practice, injuries, and strict diet, worth it all. They had the stamina necessary to pull themselves up again, and to go on. As they stand before the whole world, they will always be remembered in the history books for having endured and won the race.
my plate was full of office projects and mail to answer-but the decision had been made, and the tickets purchased and paid for. The next morning, we were up at
On Thursday, we were invited to a home for a Filipino meal and fellowship. When I say the word "meal," I would be wise to clarify that it was actually more like a "buffet." Oh my-Filipinos cook as if they are hosting a large church fellowship dinner. It was delicious! As we sat with this precious family of three generations, we were praying for the perfect opening to share Christ. They then began to ask about our "jobs." And so the open door was there! As we shared in very simple terms our calling as evangelists, one humble, precious man in his 70's looked over at Larry with desperation in his voice and tears in his eyes. He asked, "How can I know if I will go to heaven?" Wow-the door was wide open then!

I've always said, if Larry and I are faithful to do what God has called us to do, and to keep our hearts pure and tender and our motives right, God will do the rest. And oh, how true that is!
