What a surprise it was to see Scott and Nancy Ward from Missoula, Montana, attend. They have served as the w
orship leaders at Christian Life Center for nearly twelve years. Back in the mid-80's, Scott and Nancy, both single at the time, traveled with us in ministry on the road. Scott ran sound, sang and drove bus. Nancy sang and did whatever needed to be done. They went on to be married after they left Lundstrom Ministries. We are so proud of them and their ministry. I chuckled at what Nancy said, "Wow...you guys are ageless!" Whatever that means! HA! She continued, "You guys have been so faithful to stay out there all of these years touching lives. We had a lot of great memories being with your ministry."
Relatives through marriage, Arvid and Jan Liebe, of Milbank, SD, and several of their family were also vacationing in the area and took time to attend the service. Arvid is the brother to my precious sister-in-law, Marvelyn, who passed away a couple of months ago. I feel it is not only great but important to stay in touch with the family even after the death of a loved one.
eat impact in our communities. Tim was also a great help with helping set up and tear down at the park. This couple had the following comments regarding the service:Larry and Gloria,
It was such a pleasure having the Lundstrom's and their adorable granddaughter visit Glenwood. Sitting by beautiful lake Minnewaska watching the sunset and listening to foot tapping music about Christ and all he has to offer us was truly amazing. The beauty the Lord has given us was magnified that evening with beautiful voices, humor, truths, scripture and the watercolored sky as the sun set. God's creations are perfect!
Thank you for sharing.
Your Friends in Christ,

Pastor Mark shared the following about our time of ministry with them:
"Once again we had a great time with Larry and Gloria ministering in Glenwood. In our morning service, the Lord touched lives as five people responded to the altar call. As Larry and Gloria sang and shared in our 'Praise in the Park' concert, people were ministered to and challenged in their
walk with the Lord. It was a beautiful evening and a wonderful day that the Lord blessed us with. We so appreciate Larry and Gloria and their heart to reach the lost and be a blessing to the Body of Christ. On a personal note, our family is always blessed by the time we get to spend with Larry and Gloria. Thanks again for coming to Glenwood!"
Last weekend, we were invited to minister at the Wadena Evangelical Church in Wadena, MN, with Pastor Jeff Heisler. I remember being in Wadena a few weeks after Larry and I were married in November 1965. Wow..my memory still works! Yea for me! We have returned several times through the years.
Jack and Grayce Trosen, who worked with the Lundstrom Ministries in Sisseton, SD, for several years were instrumental in bringing us into Wadena. Jack was Crusade and Scheduling Coordinator for the Lowell Lundstrom Ministries when we all traveled together. On Saturday, June 28th, which was Larry's 65th birthday, Jack and Grayce had us over for a mouth-watering, home-cooked, delicious roast beef dinner with all of the
trimmings including a yummy birthday cake. That was so kind of them! Jack said the following about our time of ministry in Wadena:
"It was so great being with Larry and Gloria once again! First, it was a delight to hear some of the ol' Lundstrom songs. They do such a great job. Secondly, it was so wonderful to see the enthusiasm that Larry and Gloria have in sharing the Gospel message and seeing people saved. Also, with our past history, we enjoyed greatly having the opportunity to 'catch up' after all these years. But, most of all, it was absolutely rewarding to see all of those that responded to the Gospel. We are so excited about all of those that made commitments to Christ. Thanks for coming, Larry and Gloria!"

Pastor Jeff has a burning desire to reach the lost for Christ. Many churches and pastors express that they want to reach the lost...but often it doesn't seem to get much further than the expression. Pastor Jeff set a goal for 2008 to reach 24 people for Christ: his heart is to reach the unchurched and unsaved, not transplants from another church As of last Sunday, before we came, he had 18 people make commitments, and he was believing God for another 6 by the end of the year in order to reach his goal. Then, Jeff said, "It is only June 29th and we have almost reached our goal. There is still a half a year left. We need to believe for a lot more!". God is definitely pouring out His blessings and giving Pastor Jeff the desire of his heart. As you can see by the altar response in the photo, God drew many who were searching and hungry for Him.
Pastor Jeff does something extra-special that I have never seen before. Each tim
e someone makes a commitment to Christ, he buys a special candle and places it withing a glass globe. The glass globe has their name etched on it along with the date they received Christ. He places them on the altar and lights them every Sunday morning. He has 18 candles burning representing the 18 who have given their lives to Christ this year thus far. What a moving sight! It is a great testimony and also a great motivation to bring in the lost so they might be saved. At the end of this year, he will present each convert this beautiful candle as a symbol and reminder of their commitment to Christ. He will be placing many more on the altar as a result of Sunday's altar call.
I love the verse in Matthew 5:14-15 (NIV) that states, "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house."
We were so honored to have William Guelker form Staples, MN, with us. Bill is now 83 years old and has been a partner of our ministry for many years. He is a former Agricultural teacher. After the service, Bill said, "I have been a partner with your ministry for years now, and I am always happy to see the testimonies in the newsletter of people coming to Christ." He smiled as he said, "Wasn't that a big wonderful altar call this morning?" I responded, "Yes, Bill...and because of your prayers and support, you have a reward in each one who came to Christ." Bill acknowledged, "Yes, I will, won't I." Matthew 10:41 (NIV) states, "Anyone who receives a prophet because his is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward..." Larry and I can't save anyone; it is the Holy Spirit who draws. It is through the prayers and support of our friends and partners that enable the results and responses we see at the altar.
We pray that you will have a wonderful 4th of July weekend. We ask that you would take time to thank God for a free America where we can still attend church, read the Bible and openly talk about Jesus. Thank God, also, for setting you free and giving you life eternal. That's a real celebration!
Gloria

Rhubarb Spring Dessert
Grease 9 x 13 cake pan. Layer diced rhubarb in the pan and sprinkle sugar and candies evenly over it. Place marshmallows around the fruit. Mix the cake batter according to box directions. Pour batter over the rhubarb mixture and bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
Let cool. Serve fruit side up with whipped cream topping.
To keep butter from sliding around on the butter dish, heat the dish with hot tap water, dry off and then put the butter stick on the dish and then into the refrigerator. It will melt just a little of the butter which will freeze when put in the fridge. Doesn't slide around when you are getting butter.

marriage went by slowly and was filled with many challenges...each year since has raced by like speeding bullets. I remember thinking that anyone 25 years old was...old, 35 years of age was... older, 45 years old was... ancient, and 55 years and up was... over the hill - HA! So where does that put us now!! Please be kind with your thoughts!
no matter what walk of life, age or race, he will take out 3 coins and share the simple plan of salvation - and 9 out of 10 times will lead that person to Christ." I love his heart that is sold out for Christ. Larry has been on the road for 47 years (he was on the road four years before we got married in 1965), and his love and zeal for ministry is as fresh and fiery today as when he left for ministry on the road in 1961 with his brother Lowell and Lowell's wife Connie.
On June 8th, we had the honor and privilege to minister at New Life Assembly of God in Ellendale, North Dakota. The church meets in the Trinity Bible college chapel. We had a wonderful service. Our hosts were Pastor Dave Bennett, his wife Rose, and Dr. Lavonne Larson. Pastor Dave is an Evangelism teacher at the college, along with holding many other positions. After the service he told us, "Larry and Gloria, when you gave the altar call, I bowed my head and thought, 'Wow Lord, that was a great message on soul-winning, we needed to hear that.'" Then added, "When I looked up and saw all the people who responded to the altar call...I almost fell out of my chair! It was really great." Among all those who made decisions for Christ, was a
couple that David and Rose have been praying for and loving on for several months. Praise the Lord!
have to agree "they musta' done me well", as I'm still out here on the road in ministry after 42 ½ years. We had great teachers who were excited about preparing us for ministry. I am ever-indebted to them.
there,
of God. Their love for God and souls reverberate through them. They have a wonderful congregation and are making a difference in the Kingdom.
Evangelists Larry and Gloria Lundstrom. Their ministry here at Calvary Assembly of God Church was a tremendous blessing to our people as they shared both in music and the Word of God with conviction and boldness, yet with a spirit of humility.

helps, and that they are always in the middle of what God is doing - what a great blessing. Randy and Juli's daughter, and her husband drove back from the Milwaukee area on Father's Day. They attend my brother, Pastor Jerry Brook's church in Oak Creek, WI. I had to chuckle because she said to me,

God, in Sisseton. It is always a joy to connect with our friends and family. This time our ministry took place at the same time as graduation and Memorial Day weekend. With this in mind, Larry built his sermon around the question, "What is your belief system?". He addressed the graduates and since it was Memorial Day weekend, he also honored those that had "graduated" from this world into their heavenly home.
each one had made on our lives. Then, we noticed many graves with markers that bore the names of believers that had faithfully prayed for Larry and I as young people. They were seniors when we were teenagers. They challenged us through their examples of living godly lives as well as their faith-filled prayers to believe for miracles and answers to prayer. We cherish each one who had a part in our lives...pastors, staff, children's pastors, Sunday school teachers and youth leaders. We were always reminded of Ecclesiastes 12:1, "Remember thy Creator in the days of thy youth." We were taught and encouraged to make a commitment of our lives to Christ while we were young and that God would always be there to direct our steps and pathways of our life. It is because of the prayers of many of these saints and role models that Larry and I are in ministry today. We are grateful to all of those who took time to invest in our lives.

did I agree to? Mom is 92 ½ and is getting a driver's license???" (Not that she isn't capable to be driving, but we do not think it is wise or safe at her age with the traffic she would encounter) Still flabbergasted, I wondered what I had agreed to. The next morning, I called her, "Mom, why do you want a driver's license?" Jokingly I asked, "Do you plan on driving the Senior Citizen Transit Bus?" To which she chuckled, "Oh Missy...don't worry. I'm not getting a driver's license. I am getting an ID card for traveling identification." Whew...was I ever relieved!
don't want you to fall. I would feel so terrible and responsible if you ever got hurt." She sweetly complied as she took the cane that my dad once used and away we went. Just as we were about to enter the building, she stopped, looked up at me and firmly commanded, "Missy, you take the cane...I don't want them to think I'm using the cane." I broke out in laughter, "Oh, thanks, Mom. You are 92 ½ and I'm 64 years old and you want them to think it's mine." She just laughed.

and they all gave me beautiful Mother's Day cards with heart-touching verses. Often I don't feel I'm worthy of all those "flowery" kind words...but I'll gladly accept them! Often times, while parenting, we feel inadequate in how we're raising our children. We ponder and wonder if we did the right things in the right way. So, I need those verses of love and appreciation to keep me going. I was so happy to have our granddaughter, Myanna, with us on Mother's Day. She is such a joy to us.
"Wow! Our church is still beaming with excitement and joy at seeing nearly half in attendance on Sunday respond to the altar call, many committing their lives to Christ for the first time. Thanks Larry and Gloria for your anointed and outstanding Gospel ministry!

was a guessing game as to how much to trim. Of course, Larry and I had a lot of laughs. One thing we know for sure - pruning is not our calling! The bushes looked like they got a haircut from a first-time barber student..that's okay, they'll grow out again.
and Mary Arehart.
Little did we know that was just the beginning. For the next nearly 40 hours, the temp dropped from 73 to 27 degrees and it turned into an old-fashioned, nasty snow blizzard.. We nestled in the motor home all day Friday and waited for the storm to pass. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our Friday night service as there was no travel advised, because of the blowing and drifting snow creating zero visibility. On Saturday, April 26t,h the sun came out and the snow started to melt allowing us to have our Fun and Laughter Marriage Seminar at the Wagner Community church. We had a great evening of sharing with couples about what makes us "tick or ticked" and ended with a session on forgiveness. God did a wonderful work of healing in the lives of the couples who were able to attend.
us to minister, he said, "I believe in your ministry. Every time you and Gloria have come to minister many have come to Christ for the first time, and gotten plugged right into our church as members. We love your soul-winning emphasis." Sunday morning was no exception. Again, when the altar call was given many responded to make decisions for Christ. Praise God!
It was a personal encouragement to see Scott, who gave his heart to Christ a couple years ago in our service, and his wife who came to Christ one year ago in a service, actively involved in the church. Every Sunday, Scott does a one-man illustrated sermon or drama as to whatever Pastor is going to preach about. It's great! It thrills Larry and I to see people get saved, walk right into the church, and get actively involved. Scott owns Boom's Family Restaurant in Wagner, SD.
stood holding up the gift bag. I announced, "Happy Mayday!" as I set the gift bag by his feet. He picked it up, peeked in, saw the blizzard (he hadn't had one in months due to his "food cop" -me), he grinned that look of "oh yea!" I interrupted his thought by motioning to him and exclaiming, "Hey it's Mayday- you have to chase me and give me a kiss! Come on, let's go!" I turned around and began to walk quickly down the sidewalk and driveway... there was Larry trailing me in stocking feet and gaining ground like a speeding bullet. He grabbed me, swung me around, hugged me and plopped a big kiss on my lips. We both laughed and laughed. Just then a car drove by. Having witnessed the chase and the embrace and I'm sure they thought, "Aren't they too old for all of that?" NEVER...
Church with Rev. and Mrs. Jerry Barnard. What a warm, loving couple! They were so gracious and kind to us. They shared this about the rally:
after we were married. Of course, lots of memories flooded our minds.
were so good waaaay back then and this time they were just as delicious, along with those Southern Texas beans. Of course...Larry loves steak! It's always a joy to renew friendships. We hadn't seen the Young's since 1988.
In Canadian, we were greeted by Pastor Justin Coleman, his beautiful wife Jessica, and their two dear children. On Sunday morning we had a wonderful worship service and there were several decisions made for Christ. That's always so thrilling for us. Pastor Justin and Jessica are such a sweet and inspiring young couple. They exude the gift of southern hospitality.
are we now?" She blushed and said, "What I meant was, you don't look any different now than you did way back then..." I quickly interrupted, "Oh please, don't say anymore, it's just getting worse!" We both had a good laugh!

Toppen and his wife, Faye. We met Pastor Toppen and his family when they pastored in Pierre, SD, years ago. We were, again, greeted by his loving congregation who consist of mainly Navajo. My how they love the Lord and love to worship!

I felt I have been lazy and not doing what God has called me to do. I have been praying and asking God to help me get involved in touching lives. I am going to be coordinating the effort to follow up on all those that responded to the altar call. It was exhilerating to see all of those people make decisions for Christ."
Mary Buntanbach, a former missionary on a Navajo Reservation and who continues to be very active in ministry said, "Gloria, your ministry was so uplifting and inspirational. I loved the focus on souls and family."
plant or some fresh flowers. Anyway, last week I mentioned to him that I was getting spring fever and how much I loved seeing the first flowers of spring such as daffodils, tulips, etc. A few hours later he went to pick up a few groceries. He returned and then presented me with a beautiful blue and cream hydrangea plant. Of course, he deserved an extra hug and kiss for that! I immediately watered it as instructed. About 14 hours later, when we awoke the next morning, I went to admire my "Pride and Joy", but I was appalled to see my plant looked like someone had put a torch to it. It was completely drooped and it appeared to be dead.
dumb...of course, I watered it!"
again and her beautiful smile is radiating throughout the golden city! We can't imagine how it felt as she experienced the warm embrace of her precious heavenly Father, nor the welcome she received as she entered the gates of heaven.

that have been given to us straight from the trees/vines by friends and family. Larry has definitely received his daily dose of Vitamin C the last few months. We will miss seeing the Saquaro cactus, a trademark of Arizona, along with the beautiful palm trees that are scattered about.
have met in years past that have been wintering in Arizona. Most of all, we take with us the fragrance of the glorious altar calls, remembering those who made decisions for Christ. Altar calls never become mundane or grow old for us. Every time we see someone come to Christ, it is like a life-giving transfusion to our body, soul and spirit.
friend, David Iverson. He's always so kind and gracious as is the congregation he is pastoring. We were greeted with such great hospitality and open arms. The altar call was precious and it is exciting to see what God is doing at Fountain Hills Christian Center.

so faithful to walk with us through many trials and valley experiences. They have been such a blessing and encouragement to our family. Thanks, Pastor Bill and Linda.
for Larry to come and take a look at this one lonely daisy that had pushed its way up into the sunlight against all odds. How beautiful it looked as the late afternoon sun dropped its golden rays on its face. I thought, "Wow! What a lesson for us to learn! No matter how boxed in we may feel by the problems and cares of life, when we feel pressed on all sides like crushing concrete-if we trust God and are determined that we won't allow life to suck our joy and beauty-He will allow our lives to be as beautiful as that brilliant orange daisy."
and fulfilling the Great Commission. In youth ministry, we often experience services and speakers with plenty of excitement and energy. Not to discredit these experiences, but their focus is usually inspiration for believers. In your service at Faith Assembly in Phoenix, we were thrilled to have 12 youth respond to the salvation message.
"In this day and age, with all the teachings that are being taught, it is wonderful to see a ministry who had a passion for leading people to Jesus. I felt so honored to be a counselor and to follow up on those that made decisions for Christ."
Greetings, again, from Arizona! These past two weeks have whisked by so quickly I can hardly believe it.
service and when the altar call was given many responded. It was exhilarating to see several teenagers make decisions or rededicate their lives to Christ. Several adults of the church also commented how thrilled they were to see the teens go forward, along with all the others. That's a sure sign that it wasn't because of us or our music that those teens came forward - it is certainly not their style of music. It was truly an anointed Word and preaching that touched their hearts.

the Word and spreading encouragement.
"What a joyful privilege it was to have Larry and Gloria minister recently to our national headquarters staff during our weekly chapel time. Several staff remembered 'the Lundstroms' from years past and were delighted to make a connection again. The words to the songs they sang were uplifting and inspirational, and many were blessed immensely by their testimony. Larry and Gloria encouraged and admonished us to never forget the difference we are making via the airwaves to reach families and individuals for Christ. Larry and Gloria, you are welcome back anytime!"
was very weak, she never complained, but always had a smile and something sweet to say. She is such a testimony to us. A week a ago last Friday, she enjoyed a family birthday party. My brother, Larry Brooks, celebrated his 71st birthday. She ate, laughed and delighted in the evening with us. The next morning she was rushed to the hospital and within hours was placed on life support.
Their four children flew out immediately from Minneapolis. The doctors did not give her any hope to come out of this. I don't think I've ever experienced a family so united and who have stood on the Word with a greater faith than this one. They are totally believing that their mother will come off the life support, and be able to see and respond to her husband and family.

One couple grabbed my arm and said, "We remember you from Klamath Falls, OR, in 1968! We can't believe you are STILL on the road after all of these years! We loved your music and ministry way back then, and we loved your music and ministry today as much or more. We were thrilled to see people respond to the altar calls." I assured them that it is the altar calls that keep us going; they are like a blood transfusion to us when we are weary and tired in body. Every morning when Larry and I pray together, we thank God for saving us and for the privilege of being called to represent Him through ministry.
Phoenix) with Pastor Ron and Sue Rockwell. Ron and Sue are special to us as they were youth pastors in our home church in Sisseton, SD, many years ago. Their ministry to the youth made a great impact on those who were teenagers at that time. They are now adults, many of whom are married and have families of their own. Ron and Sue poured into their lives and a great number of them are still serving God making an impact in the marketplace through
their lives, testimonies, examples and integrity. Thanks, Pastor Ron and Sue! Pastor Ron and Sue shared the following comments regarding the service:
teenagers. Pastor Eddy Johnson, the new youth pastor at Harvest Church, was thrilled to see those teens make decisions for Christ, especially as this was his first Sunday there. What a way to begin!
allowing us to park our motorhome here alongside the RV MAPS couples who are here working on various church projects. It's exhilarating to see all these seniors investing their lives in God's work rather than rusting out in rocking chairs. This coming fall, most of them will return to Glendale once again to begin working on a new sanctuary that will seat over 1,000. Harvest Church's congregation has grown from 25 people to over 400! Praise the Lord!
emotionally and even spiritually. I know I can certainly be found guilty of that. So, about three hours ago, I said, "Larry, let's take a break and have a date...now...please." We dropped everything and scurried off to the "Sweet Tomato", a soup and salad buffet. We leisurely enjoyed our date and then went for a quick walk in the late afternoon Arizona sun. It was so invigorating! I came back relaxed and ready to tackle the work again.
